"Towards Citizen", not only the name of our foundation, it is also our fundamental principle.
We strongly believe that the development and advancement of human society is the journey from “people” towards “citizen”.
"The citizen of Athens!" the deafening voice over thousands years ago, traveling across Aegean Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, has been echoed and resonated all over the world. The tremendous wave caused by the voice has yet settled, still raging in our hearts and thoughts.
"The Foundation of Towards Citizen" focuses its efforts on the enlightenment of the spirit of citizen and the construction of a just citizen society. It is an academic organization without political or religious tendency. It supports the researches on Greek and Roman classics and the history and origins of citizen, by means of conferences, forums, publication and student exchange, both domestically and internationally.
Tracing the remote origin of the concept of citizen, confronting the imminent challenges of modern societies, prospecting the various possibilities of the future world, we are certain that the journey will be long and hard, yet we are determined and confident on our destination and every step towards it.
